The IMAX Theatre Rivercenter is more than two IMAX® Theatres.  When you visit you will also see displays of local historic artifacts from the 1800’s.  See what the locals used for ammunition, dishes and clothes before there was a mall where you could buy anything that you needed.    

One of the favorites is a scale model for the area as it was in 1836 showing many buildings and neighborhoods that are still in use today.  In 1836, the San Antonio River was the heart of the city as it still is today. 

 

The Mexican Soldier (El Soldado Mexicano) was expected to be able to march up to 10 miles a day while carrying his own food, knapsack, ammunition, and musket. The combined weight of these items often added up to forty pounds.
